A Fort Pierce Police Officer holds a towel to the head of Veronica C Paez, 45, on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 as she lays on the sidewalk waiting for paramedics. Police arrested the woman’s partner, Joann Haughbook on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and committing an act that could cause death. Police said, Haughbook allegedly attacked her cheating girlfriend after the two began arguing. Haughbook grabbed a 12-ounce bottle of oil and began beating the victim in the head with it, witnesses told police.
